Reminder-Mason County Emergency Management and Mason County LEPC will be conducting a Shelter in Place drill at our schools today 10-11-2024. The drill will start at 9:00 and last approximately 30 minutes. No one will be permitted to enter or leave the schools during this drill.

Technical Honor Society and SkillsUSA WV collect items for the Hurricane effected areas. NTHS is doing a food drive and SkillsUSA is collecting items for the animal shelter. You can bring items to the Mason County Career Center between 8am and 3pm Monday to Friday. If you come to our open house and bring these items then you will be entered in to a drawing for one of three $25 gift cards!!



Students at the Mason County Career Center all have the opportunity to become OSHA 1- certified. Owen is the first student to complete his for the 24/2 school year! Owen is a student in the new 4t program in collaboration with Toyota Buffalo.


The HVAC class learned about Ladder safety this week as part of their shop safety training.



The FBI Division's Community Outreach Program will five Teen Academy programs this fall. This is a one day hands on program for rising high school juniors and seniors.

It's CTE month and one of our teachers made a wonderful presentation at the school board meeting on Tuesday February 27th..
During the presentation, the accolades of our three student organizations( FBLA, FFA and SkillsUSA) were presented and some of our students were recognized by the board.




The Skilled Trades Scholarship Program promote continuing education among the electrical and mechanical skilled trade areas. With this program, students will obtain the necessary credentials and skill set needed to be successful in a skilled trades career. Students will achieve an associate degree, sponsored by Constellium. Scholarship recipients will be selected based on GPA, school attendance, letters of recommendation and interview process. Please come out Saturday and support your SkillsUSA students. The money from this event will be used to send them to Fairmont in March to compete in the State Leadership and Skills Conference!

Mason County Career Center's Sports Medicine students assisted their instructors from Rivers Health during the Jason Eades Memorial Duals Wrestling Tournament this weekend!
They gained real world experience by observing injuries in real time and assisting with blood clean up.




Mrs. Bale's embedded math students have been working on a gingerbread house project. They had to create a floor plan using available square footage, do a cost analysis and stay within given budget, use problem solving and creativity to design their house and do it all in square cm. Today they got to create a graham cracker version.





SkillsUSA students collected Christmas cards and signed them with holiday messages for the local nursing home and other agencies.
