At 37, Jessica Nelson of Point Pleasant, West Virginia, is proving that it’s never too late to chase a new adventure. After spending her entire adult life working in healthcare, Jessica decided to step into the traditionally male-dominated world of commercial driving, with plans to graduate this month. 🚛

As a mother of children in the local school system, Jessica is motivated to earn her school bus endorsement so she can support the local high school band during football season — combining her career goals with her commitment to her family and community. She describes the CDL program as welcoming and team-oriented.

“I have never been made to feel like a failure even when I do something wrong. My instructors are very patient,” Jessica said. “I haven’t had any negative experiences, and everyone has treated me as an equal and with respect. My gender hasn’t set me apart.”
